For a few days, there was relative peace in Sandpoint. Adoror began to think that perhaps the lingering malevolence of Chopper had been the cause. This theory however, was quickly shattered, when Maester Grump stumbled into town, terrified and drunk, rambling of walking scarecrows feeding on the livestock and farmers at night.
The Deputies decide to investigate, bringing Ameiko’s cousin, Hun Qui, who had came to town after hearing the death of her family members, to help her cope. On their way, they find an overturned carriage, and were attacked by the ghoulified woman that lay within. The carriage driver they found crawling under the bridge later, but was quickly dealt with by a single mighty punch from Hun Qui.
By evening they reached the Hambley Farm where Maester Grump had encountered the horrors he described. Determining the Corn Fields as too large to traverse as one group, they separated into two groups, where they discovered with horror that the scarecrows were in fact ghouls, victims who had been infected and left to ‘ripen’. The scent of living flesh grew too much to bear for these scarecrows, and they lunged from their stands to attack. Eventually they came to the Hambley Farmhouse. Chopska, Messer, and Adoror took the barn, where they found a group of Ghouls, which Adoror quickly wiped out with a burst of his divine power.
Hun Qui and Garram took the farmhouse, where they encountered a one eared ghast. After a savage battle, and the timely arrival of the others, Hun Qui and Garram slew the Ghast, and found a key around the creature’s neck.
A Key that Adoror, Garram, and Chopska recognized, for it beared the sigil of Foxglove.
Could Aldern Foxglove be the Skinsaw Man?
