The Deputies decided to investigate the Seven’s Sawmill on Kyver’s Isle. The Mill seems innocuous enough at first glance, but Garram spots a door just above the water line, hidden under the boardwalk connected by a hidden staircase. When they enter, they find themselves under questioning by the mill workers inside. Something doesn’t feel right to the Deputies as the Sawmill workers try to coax them to leave, informing them that it is very, very dangerous for unauthorized personnel to be on the Mill property. The Deputies stand their ground, only for these sawmill workers to pull grotesque patchwork ‘Skinsaw’ masks out of their back pockets, and pull War razors hidden inside the piles of lumber scattered about the mill. The Deputies, surprised by the Skinsaw Men, are forced to quickly defend themselves against an onslaught from the murderous cultists of Norgorber.
Making their way upwards through the Mill, they find that the Skinsaw Men amassed around their leader, wearing his own sick and grotesque ‘Reapers Mask’. Before The Reaper could do anything, Hun Qui dove through his ranks, taking a number of quiet violent wounds along the way, and tackled the man, pinning him in a full body lock. The rest of the Deputies started to fight their way through the Skinsaw men as Hun Qui took savage blow after savage blow from nearby Cultists, desperate to hold onto life long enough to keep the battle in favour of his companions. Hun Qui is almost dealt is mortal blow, when Garram kills the final Cultist, and the unveiling of the Reaper is shocking.
The Leader of the Skinsaw Cult is Justiciar Ironbriar, a well-known and respected Magnimar Justice of the Peace. Hun Qui comes to the conclusion that Ironbriar is under a charm, and while guilty of the sick crimes of his being a Reaper, means he is not the mastermind behind the Skinsaw Man that Foxglove had become. Restraining the man, they investigate the top floor, revealing a small rookery with a few messenger ravens kept in their cage.
Freeing one, they write a small note reading. “We’re coming for you.”, and attached it to the raven, watching as it flew to the Underbridge, landing on the old abandoned clock tower known s the ‘Shadow Tower.’ could that be the final thread to this tapestry of murder?
